The USPS: My New BFF

Dear United States Postal Service,

Just wanted to send a quick note thanking you for the invaluable service you provide with the Tracking and Confirmation option you make available to shippers.

We recently paid more than we should have to make a purchase on Ebay. After paying and then not hearing from the seller for 16 years a day or so, we were greatly relieved to learn that our item had been shipped. The tracking number was just an added joy. We got out a map so our kids could get a little extra geography lesson as our package moved around the country.

On March 8th, we logged onto your website, entered our tracking number and got this message:

Processed, March 08, 2008, 1:33 am, BELL, CA 90201

Acceptance, March 07, 2008, 8:22 am, LAGUNA HILLS, CA 92654

Your message assured us that we could check back for updates each evening.

Yeah. We checked again on March 10th.

Processed, March 08, 2008, 1:33 am, BELL, CA 90201

Acceptance, March 07, 2008, 8:22 am, LAGUNA HILLS, CA 92654

And again today, March 12th.

Processed, March 08, 2008, 1:33 am, BELL, CA 90201

Acceptance, March 07, 2008, 8:22 am, LAGUNA HILLS, CA 92654

And then this morning:

Processed, March 08, 2008, 1:33 am, BELL, CA 90201

Acceptance, March 07, 2008, 8:22 am, LAGUNA HILLS, CA 92654

And other than our boxes getting all mixed up in this copy and paste exercise, we've learned more about the USPS tracking system than we thought possible.

We really can't express to you how much this info helps us determine WHERE are package is and WHEN it will arrive at our house. It's been so much fun to watch our package make its way from state to state disappear from the radar screen.

Thank-you again for the wonderful and nicely managed service.

The Flag Family
