Friday's Limited Fragments

With my bi-weekly (semi-weekly?)nod to Mrs. 4444, surely one of the world's best teachers, here we go.
1. What does it mean when the dentist is talking to me and the assistant is making eye contact with me behind his back and the assistant is shaking her head "no"?
2. Look what happens when it's Winter Break week and the mother declares a moratorium on video games, television, and the Internet: a puzzle!
3. Dream interpreters, please help me: I dreamed that my child's teacher kidnapped me. We both thought it was a boring kidnapping and I walked home.
4. Please pray for one of my students who lost a parent last week and then tried to end his own life in response.
5. My version of Apple Cake (See, Mom? I do use your flower cake pan!)
1 1/4 white sugar
2 cups flour
2 tsp ground cinnamon
2 tsp baking soda
2 eggs
1/2 cup vegetable oil
2 tsp vanilla extract
1 cup chopped walnuts
5 1/2 cups chopped apples (I went over by a cup - don't repeat my mistake)
45 minutes in a 325 degree oven (325 doesn't seem right to me; maybe it was 350?)
6. Why do we ALWAYS need the receipt AFTER I've thrown it away?

That cake looks so good! Any chance its carb free? LOL

As for the dentist question, that's easy: all dentists are evil! *shudder* (This comment may or may not indicate a vague dentist phobia in its author.)

Funny dream. Before I sat down to get on here and realized I needed a receipt out of the trash, that's funny.
The other day the Diva threw away the only cash I had on me at the gas station. I told her to dig in the trash, because I was in my PJ's and not getting out. She had none of it. I had to pay for a pop in nickles. hehehe.

That poor child--I will keep him in my prayers. And good for you on the puzzle vs. the electronics. Good for you.

haha I love that last shot. I have done this too and the bill came out all yucky, with food rests sticking to it...
Or the time my husband was missing his SIN card. It finally found it in the trash too! (long story)

Caution, I'm so glad you played today! I've missed you; I've been SO SO busy with school lately that I am actually working at home today. Um, yeah. That, and keeping up with FF. I hope to read blogs this weekend!

LOVE your new page! LOVE your pic! The dream? You're wishing you could be a kid again and have the same carefree school days of your kids?

What a tragedy. I will definitely pray for your student and the family.

The puzzle looks like a great idea. Lovely tableful of kids there!

Your dream....here's my stab at it: Perhaps you get drawn into taking the teacher too seriously and you need to walk away from doing that.

I love it when the kids do a puzzle together. Around here, I make days-- READING DAYS! I make 'em all curl up with a book. No TV. No video anything. Nice and quiet for a while!
