Saying Good-Bye to El Paso

On Saturday we leave my sister and her family in El Paso and head to Dallas to see Checkered's sister. It's always difficult to say good-bye and harder still to wait the probable two years until our next reunion. I am very fond of this west Texas town. My sister's neighborhood is pretty much mosquito-free due to the lack of humidity, so it has been a treat to sit outside at night and chat while the kids swim. Here's a picture of something we will always remember from our trip:

How funny that when it drops into the 90's in the evening, we all say it feels so good outside!

Someday soon, I will get my thoughts together for a better travelogue. Maybe tomorrow's 10 hour ride will be the time.

Yes. The heat. But like you say. No humidity. Enjoy!

I'm in Austin Texas and want to apologize on behalf of Texas for the boring drive you are about to experience. Not a lot to see on that route sadly. Hope you stay cool and have a great time dear!

You´re really getting around.
So now you know what we go through every summer for about 6 months out of the year. But if you expect it and have AC´s it´s manageable.
Drive safe!

Dallas is a long damn time from El Paso... of course, everything is a long damn time from El Paso.

It is awful when sibs live so far apart. At least in my family. We miss each other a lot and the longest I am from my sibs is 3-4 hours.

With the garden, though, summer is not the time to visit.

Jeeminy Christmas that's a lot of heat. Have a wonderful, safe trip.

Relish the journey.

I'm writing this on Saturday evening and am hoping you had a safe, smooth trip today. I'd take some of that "no humidity" in a heartbeat, but am not sure about 107 degrees! Have a wonderful time in Dallas!

No mosquitos? Lucky you! I got five bites in five minutes at five o'clock yesterday afternoon AND we've got no humidity.

Safe travels.

No mosquitos and no humidity would be almost heaven! As I sit here and sweat.
