FF: All Over the Place with this Post

Friday Fragments?

My daughter's choir is performing at the Detroit Opera House today. I deeply regret not spending the $75 to be there. She balked at the idea of holding a little recorder for me. Go figure.

Why would a doctor rely on a one-page survey to diagnose and allow that survey to override social evidence? Why don't any of these doctors want to hear what the teacher with her 25 years of experience and two years with my child has to say?

Checkered loves those new dark blues, purples, and greens so popular in Christmas colors. They evoke something dear from his childhood. The only thing he remembers in that color is a bowl of dark blue bulbs. But, boy, what a strong emotional reaction when he sees those colors.

Guess what color lights are on our tree this year...?

I wonder what will take my own kids back to their childhoods when they're grown.

Last Sunday during church, my 12 year old got my wedding ring stuck on his finger. After spending the first two sermon points getting the ring off, he gave it to my youngest son who ... yes, who put it on HIS middle finger where it got really stuck. I really am not sure what the sermon was about.

That same younger son told me he doesn't believe now. I worried that he meant Santa, but then was stricken with guilt and wondered if he meant God. What he meant was Rudolf because a red nose really couldn't help someone see in the fog now, could it?

How cool your daughter's choir is performing at the Detroit Opera House! Too bad she balked at the idea of holding a little recorder for you... ;)

I don't get why a doctor would rely on a one-page survey to diagnose and not include other factors into that diagnosis. No way can a one-page survey include all aspects.

It is interesting how things will evoke something dear from childhood - like Checkered and the dark blues, purples and greens of Christmas this year. I often wonder what will evoke warm fuzzy memories for Princess Nagger, too. So are the lights on your tree blues, purples and greens? ;)

The wedding ring debacle sounds like a comedy sketch...I'm assuming the ring was successfully returned to you? ;)

I had to laugh out loud about your younger son's observation about Rudolph...Princess Nagger made that same comment, which was concurred by hubby, who is 'Literal Man'. I think PN bought the whole idea of 'magic', though...for now. ;)

Enjoy your weekend! :)

I laughed at the ring antics - I think we all have had that happen!

The reference to the Christmas colors reminds me that Partridge Creek does a similar color scheme. It's really pretty.

And the doctor and the piece of paper...I understand your frustration.

You need a new doctor, if at all possible. Not cool.

Thanks so much for stopping by and the compliments on the tree. It is a pre-lit tree, and I have to say the 12 yo did most of the placing of the ornaments and (ugh) tinsel (her idea... not mine, we have tinsel from one end of the house to another (that was my other FF that I forgot!)

We always had orange and green outside lights... never figured that one out.

I have so many things that evoke memories, decorating the tree brought back so many. That's why we have tinsel on the tree... I want her to have a hand in making memories!

Ramble ramble! The coffee kicked in!

Love your design!

That's cute about Rudolf. That is a bit harder to believe than Santa isn't it Lol!

The colors that remind me of Christmas in my childhood are all those big, multi-colored lights that were on the tree being reflected in that old silver tinsel the cat used to eat.

I'm with Checkered on those beautiful hues of Christmas. And I totally believe Rudolph could pull it off. Seriously.

Ah - the smells and colours of our childhood, eh? Such strong sensory memories.

Had to laugh about Rudolph - but at least his nose can stop traffic right?

All over the place - is there any other way to write a post?

Since I live under a rock (an insect-infested rock at that), I had no idea about this new color scheme for Christmas. I'm going to have to check it out.

I love all over the place..this is how I live. ;0
Why are you taking your wedding ring off in church? Is there something going on? Is it the blue lights? Are you annoyed with the blue and purple???

Thanks for ruining Christmas for me. I will never ever look at Rudolph the same way again. NEVER.

keep going to other doctors until you get one that listens; I don't know why they don't pick up on what a parent or teacher says that sees the kids daily. Frustrating and I have my own horror story so I share your frustration

how cool with your daughter! maybe some other parent will be there taping the event that you can get a copy of

I once saw a giant black hair growing out my husband's ear at the beginning of a sermon. Jesus Christ could have come down from the rafters, and alas, I still would be thinking about how I could pluck that hair.

I'm with the kid. Red light in a fog, not helpful.

It was only Rudolph? Phew!... What a relief! ;)

Wow, the opera house? Fantastic!

A multi tasking post...I love it. Aren't you glad they didn't put the ring in their mouths?

Congratulations to your daughter!

I'm sorry about the doctor's disregard. I think that is just
arrogant.

I don't know about the red nose. I've never had one.

I love the Santa/Rudolph talk, and your church story cracked me up!

Wish I could have been there, too, to listen to your daughter; I'll bet it was wonderful. I hope she gives you a private concert :)

Have a wonderful week.
