Friday Fragments: Meandering !! and ??

!! I was in a school office this week when I had no choice but to overhear the principal loudly complain to a staff member about some teachers. Whether or not the principal's claims had validity, I was annoyed to hear specific names mentioned - especially since one is a teacher my child has this year. I wonder how one goes about introducing a principal to the concept of a closed office door during venting sessions.

!! Mommy's IdeaI’m thinking Mrs. 4444’s for principal now. I really am. What do you think??

?? How do you all respond via email to your comments? I love that you do, but haven't figured out how to do that. Are you working from the comment moderation page?

!! My favorite missionary, Julie, has me using Live Writer now. I like it but don’t really know why. However, I do know why I like Julie. She and her husband have such a passion for sharing Christ :) Life in Hungary hasn’t been easy for Julie and there have been times I’ve worried about her being there (like when her son went through a terrifying medical crisis last year) but she NEVER complains about where the Lord has placed her family – even though I sometimes think she should. If you need a missionary family to love, go meet Julie.

!! When I was a child, I always thought that a rainy or cold Saturday was just perfect if I happened to turn on the t.v. just as the CBS Children's Film Festival began. I never could decide if I liked or despised Kukla, Fran, and Ollie though.

!! My 8 year old had a field trip to the library this week. He and his partner were to measure their height with the measuring guide there. He was surprised and a bit disappointed at the results. "It turns out that I'm only 4 inches tall but I always thought I was 8 feet tall!”

!! I asked my students to choose two words or phrases that best define them. Some were insightful (pliable), a lot were boring (nice) and then there is Steve who agonized over what best defined who he is as a person: smoker.

!! On Craigslist this week, one local group listed a blue coach for sale. He is a good deal at $50 since, "...the coach is large and would require a truck for pick up."

!! PRETEND THAT I'M SMART AND THAT THERE IS A FRIDAY FOLLOW BUTTON RIGHT HERE:”Friday

Good morning and happy Friday Follow. For this very moment I am your newest follower. I think you are right that Mrs. 444 would make an excellent principal and also that venting sessions need to be behind closed doors. I will go and meet Julie (same as my name so of course that jumped out at me) and see what's happening in her life. I have to install code from my blogger so not sure if it's even possible with live writer.
Thank you for sharing and I love you blog. I'll be reading more and enjoying. Take care and have the most blessed Friday possible.

You and your family always make me laugh. Your son is only 4 inches tall? Poor kid. I bet he gets stepped on a lot.
That principal???? HUH????

I see you got the instructions on the email/comment. I love this option as well. But some people don't have their email attached to their comments...so that is a bummer. YOU do not bum me out though.
Have a great weekend.

"Smoker."

Why to aim high there, kid.

I can relate to "pliable" at times. I feel like I'm in four directions all at once!

Ya kept me in stitches sister! Heeheehe! Yep, Mrs. 44444's...great idea!

God bless and have a glorious day, you've brightened mine! :o)

That principal seriously needs some lessons in common courtesy! What kind of example is he trying to set!

I'm assuming your son is actually somewhere between 4 inches and 8 feet? And one has to wonder about a kid who defines himself as a smoker. Wonder if he meant smokin' as in HOT! LOL

I love the "pretend that I'm smart"! Too funny!

Too funny how students define themselves. And your son is precious. What did you say to him after his big disappointment?

Whoever said principals were our PALS was sadly mistaken. I'm thinking the Peter Principle-Mediocrity rises-is in effect in most public schools. Eegads, they're such a bunch of NITWITS!

I had a principal complain about my son's teachers to me directly. He said "No parent should be treated like that and I will understand if you pull your son and put him in private school." I lost all respect for him on the spot.

Of course, I had already lost all respect for the teachers involved. Their nicknames were "Dumb and Dumber".

Shame, shame on the principle. I don't know how to do the email response either, but then I migh not get over to the blogs! It's tough enough as it is to keep up with FB and blogs and iphone messages.

Oh, and 'll take that coach!

C's has the same attitude with me on her height - she thinks she is almost as tall as her sister (C - maybe a bit over 4'....R - 5'10!)

I have my comments sent to my email and reply from there.

Yeah, that Friday Follow business is a little overwhelming to me. One of these days, I'll dig deeper into it...Show me how, will you?

I can reply via email only when people enter their email in the comment spot. Otherwise, I don't go searching for it. Blogger has a setting to receive comments via email; that's the easiest place to read them and respond.

Loved the Children's FF :)
