Z - A Mondays: Uniform

When my oldest boy joined Cub Scouts, he was quite focused. He didn't much care about the badges, experiences, or even the community involvement. What completely captured his imagination was the UNIFORM.

Since then, he has begun to climb through the ranks and has learned more than we ever dreamed. He has been given opportunities to laugh, to build his confidence, to help others. He has formed great friendships and met wonderful adults.
We don't regret anything about Scouting.

The adage says, "The uniform makes the man."

Maybe there is something to that afterall.

I think scouting is wonderful! I know of Girl Scouts and Brownies from when I was growing up, but none of my girls were interested and I never hear about them anymore! (Except when it's time to buy the cookies)
I think if more kids got into scouting there would be fewer lost to their own devices and trouble!

Very HANDSOME in his uniform too!
Scouting and 4-H are clubs that I personally think all kids should experience!

What a handsome boy! My son is a boy scout. Lots of great opportunities. He is friends with kids he would not have been because of different ages, etc.

Perfect U word! I love a man in uniform, young, old, it doesn't matter...they always looks honorable and distinguished. :)

Happy Monday to U.
great U word - the scouts offer great opportunities. Here's to hoping he sees Eagle Scout in his future.

he looks great in his uniform!! Scouting is such a good experience for those very reasons you listed; glad he decided to take the plunge to sign up and participate, even if it might have just been in the beginning for the uniform :)

(thanks for visiting my blog and your nice comment :)

Aww...he's such a cutie! And he looks so proud! My favorite part of Brownies was the uniform...maybe it's just having something unique. Regardless I'm sure you are proud of his achievements in Scouts!

Ah, I miss the days of the pinewood derby..

I was a Girl Scout leader for 7 years, so I saw a lot of girls in uniforms, too. My son, unfortunately, dropped out after cubs.

The uniform definitely makes THIS man. You must be so proud. Congrats.

Sounds like a great experience... However, I would say that it is the man who makes the uniform!

Handsome guy! Scouting is a wonderful program. Kids can learn so much from the experience and from each other in scouting. You have much to be proud of in his achievements. Great choice for the letter "U." :)

My son will be an Eagle Scout this year. Did you know that the scouts are supposed to put the badges on themselves? (I made Kyle sew one. Then, we hot-glued the rest. It's the 21st century, for crying out loud!!! :)
