I took them for granted all my years in Kentucky --those glorious Redbud trees which grow best on their own in the wild. The east Kentucky hills are simply abounding in color at this time of year, and the drive from Ashland, then Morehead and into Lexington is about the prettiest drive in the world. When I moved to Michigan I looked, but there were no hills decorated with those delicate trees. Every spring I get a little homesick and to fix that, I'm going to Kentucky in a few weeks. I haven't been brave enough to ask if the Redbuds are still in bloom, but I surely hope so.

Gorgeous! I hope they will be blooming for you when you visit...
So pretty!! Maybe they are blooming late this year because of the weather?
I love the daffodils in bloom. Now I wish ours would bloom so that I can stop trespassing in order to photograph other people's.
Beautiful tree.
Kentucky's purty close to North Carolina, in case you'd like to take just a tiny side trip....

No redbuds blooming here yet:(
Our redbuds are not blooming yet. I am waiting......
<><
I love the redbuds too -- especially on a rainy day when the trunks and limbs are dark w/moisture. Ours haven't started blooming yet either. I hope the ones in Kentucky are waiting for you:D
Man can't wait until things start blooming around here. I'm 100% over the brownness.
Aaaah trees in bloom, lovely. I visited the fruit region in our country last year and took a gazillion pictures of the trees in bloom. I'm SO looking forward to do this again this year!
I wonder if I ever left Florida, if I'd miss the palm trees...
Blooming trees make me incredibly happy. It's joy on a vine.
I hope for Kentucky's sake, those trees are still blooming for YOU.
They are gorgeous.
Beautiful tree!
I grew up in Southern Indiana and that was one of my favorite signs of spring :)
my absolute favorite though was the jonquils (daffodils) blooming. Because my birthday is in late March and they would start blooming just a few days before, I considered them my 'birthday flower'
:)
Strangely enough, I see a lot of jonquils around mid-TN but not many redbuds...
so pretty! hope they're blooming when you get to kentucky!
