Friday Fragments: The Have You Missed Me Edition

It's Friday, so off the Mrs. 4444's I go for Friday Fragments and to Sara's place at Friday's Freewrite.

  • Michigan is the first state in 25 years to pass the 15% unemployment mark.

  • Not surprisingly, when I went into three furniture stores yesterday, I was one of two customers in each store.

  • We did not renew our subscription to the local paper, yet we continue to receive the paper. I guess I'm not too sad.

  • When I told my 14 year old daughter that before I got my first master's degree in English, I strongly considered getting a degree in library science. She was visible disgusted by that news.

  • How am I ever going to lose this weight when ice cream is just so delicious?

  • For years now, my friend and my sister have told me to read Chocolat or at least watch the movie. I finally checked the book out. New favorite novel, here I come.

  • Does it bother you to see school supplies in the stores this early?

  • and finally:

  • WHY would any man who speaks even a little English do this to a company?

I am an insurance agent and one of the company's that we represent named their rating system "Point of Sale" or POS. Yup. You can imagine what the nickname quickly became. Sometimes people just don't think!

I noticed fall clothes in ThatMart this week. Very nice colours - things we wore in 1970 something. And really cute backpacks - I wanted one.

I'm not going to patronize any store or business that calls itself PMS. I have already had all of that I ever need.

I have a degree in Journalism, and I, too, thought about Library Science. It might still be my dream job.

Chocolat (the movie) is on my top ten list. Juliette Binoche is absolutely brilliant in it.

I always thought Library Science would be EXACTLY what I would love to do, if I had been smart and attended college when one is supposed to. Honestly? STILL haven't ruled it out. :)
P(aver)M(aintenance)S(ervice)? Only a man. BWA!

Noah and I see those PMS trucks on the road, and wonder the same thing!

Can you just hear the conversations at homes across the area:

"Hey honey, I gotta write a check out for PMS."

Bet that's not easy...

I went to college with a girl whose initials were PSM. So you know what her monograms were!! Why would a mother do that to her daughter?

I just bought school supplies. Our kids go back August 10th. That's how they do it in GA! Of course, our unemployment rate is only 10%. :o)

I tried to buy my daughter a pair of shorts yesterday... the shops are now full of winter overalls and autumn fleece-lined jackets and it's hot outside!

Did you mention PMS and Chocolat in the same posting on purpose?
