- My parents welcomed a lovely baby girl into their lives 40 plus/plus and then some years ago this week.
- Anyone older than I am automatically qualifies to be my newest BFF.
- And then there's the party!
I always wanted to own one of her quilts, but that never happened...
...until she surprised my daughter with this:
Jill now makes quilted pictures. She takes a simple drawing someone has done and turns that drawing into a quilted picture. The quilt in the previous picture was based on my daughter's self-portrait.
Here is one she did for my oldest son (also his second grade self-portrait - mysteriously lacking a body):
Here are some others she has done:
And this meaningful one:
And now I am giving you the opportunity to own your very own quilted picture custom-made by Jill!!
One quilted picture (approximately 16" x 20") made from a drawing you submit.
How to play:
Just leave me a comment between now and Friday, April 3 at 9:00 p.m. EST.
If you really want to make me happy, become a follower (if you're not already) because I'm having some follower envy.
On Saturday, we will randomly choose the winner's name!
Now get commenting!
That's one of the cutest ideas I've ever seen!!!
Happy birthday, by the way, from someone who qualifies as your newest BFF :)
Happy Birthday! I also qualify as a new BFF and then some. I admire creativity in everyone, but the individuals who actually do something with it to make others smile and have a rememberance of a treasured memory are at the top of the list! Wow...
I AM the new BFF! Stayed tuned for my surprise!
Awesome quilts. Marlene will have a fit!
The princess of the school is so talented....I have never seen anything like this before!!!!

I come by way of Gettin it out of my head (My blogger buddy Debbie). I have been here before. I want to wish you a Happy Birthday and let you know that I am older than 40 by some number of years. I love quilts and anyone who can do them (I can't). I have one that was my mothers and remember it from when I was a very little girl. I bring it out once a year as a christmas decoration (it is red, white and green and it looks like a christmas tree). Thank you for having this contest and giving us the oppoertunity to receive such a wonderful gift. (Did the sucking up give me any brownie points?)
Happy Birthday!! I'm so happy I get to have you as my new BFF and you get to have me...we will have so much fun!
The quilts are just adorable. I so envy talent like that. I have follower envy too but alas I can't help you out there.
Have a great day...
Happy Birthday Week to you, Caution! (You aren't turning 50 yet, are you.....I wondered because you mentioned the fetal position and tissues.....better to save those for the big 5-0 birthday, I'd say.)
Princess Jill certainly is very talented and has a great idea going with the creating of these unique picture quilts.
And, how sweet of you to do a giveaway!! Enjoy your week!
Well that's one way to get comments.
I may try it.
Those are great little quilts.
Another BFF here! Aren´t you surprised at how many BFF´s you have now? :)
Is the giveaway open for outside of the US? If not, that´s ok! Hope you get lot´s of followers. I already am! :)
Happy Birthday from your other BFF (who shares a cyber persona with the previous poster)! The quilts are beautiful!
I meant to be here so much sooner, but I have been protecting my computer most of the evening from that dreaded virus suppose to take hold tomorrow. I hope it is a trick for April Fool's Day.
Tomorrow is D Day dor Delivery!!! Let me know when it arrives.
I am just stunned at her work and the creavity involved...I would love to have a piece made by her...she is very talented and even if I don't win, maybe she and I could collaborate on something together.
Happy Day girlie and BTW...I was already a BFF!
Love forever, my sister, my friend.
Happy Birthday. I don't qualify for the BFF club, but hopefully you'll still like me. I'm a lurker, commenting more to wish you a happy day thursday, than to win your giveaway. Hope to see (read) you around a lot more.
those are totally awesome what a great idea!!!!!
I am a tiny bit younger than you but can I please still be a BFF ??? HUH HUH HUH PLEASEEEEEEE
Happy Pre birthday!
Yeah, follower envy is a tough one. I, too, suffer from it!
Very talented friend you have! What a great idea to make a quilt out of a drawing!
Count me in to celebrate your birthday in style!
Happy Birthday tomorrow!!!
Your friend is very talented. I can barely draw a stick person, let alone quilt a picture!!
Hope your day is a good one :)
Hey there my friend. I am not older than you, you know this, and you seem fine with that fact. I am an old soul, so we jive fine and could easily be BFFs. Happy Birthday! I am home safe and sound. It was quite a trip, one I may or may not blog about, but hey, this comment is about YOU, and how fabulous YOU are! Seriously, so glad to call you my friend, and it's really cool that you celebrate your birthday by having a contest for others. But then, you are that kind of girl aren't you?! Have a good week, eat it up, this is your time to be waited on and loved. Shine!
Can I enter twice?
Fetal positions are good for 60+ years, too, so I'm definitely a BFF candidate, too. Happy Birthday and what a wonderful give away. I love quilts and am envious of anyone who has the talent and patience and what a creative idea.
Put up your feet and let everyone wait on you and just enjoy your day.
I've always been a follower but now I am a "Follower" ;)
Oh, those quilts are adorable!! How does she do it?!?!
