Friday Fragments: Readers, Forgive Me

I've come to think of Mrs. 4444 as a priest. All I have to do is type, "Friday Fragments," and the confession begins.

Friday Fragments?
Sometimes I keep my car so hot during a drive in the winter that I'm afraid my body will steam when I get out into the cold air. How would I explain that one??

During the 80's, I may have -once or twice- worn knee highs under a longer skirt.

Last night when it was time for the Cub Scouts to choose an adult to get a pie in the face, I took a long restroom break.

I rarely answer my phone.

My children are being clothed out of the clean laundry which has been sitting in a basket in the hallway for more than a week now.

My children have put their dirty laundry into that basket, so I really don't know if they're wearing clean or dirty clothes.

Sometimes, if the jeans have no apparent food stains on them, I might take a quick sniff of the seat of the pants. No offensive odor=another day's wear.

My child had several Hostess 100 calorie 3 packs of cupcakes for dinner the other night. I figured that the 15 grams of fiber would compensate for a complete lack of nutrients.

Do opera singers ever sing normally --like when they sing "Happy birthday" with their families?

I told my teacher that I am enjoying the class I'm taking, but then I realized the class isn't nearly as close to be finished as I thought it was. That detracted considerably from my enjoyment factor.

I loved my Christmas powerpoint that I sent out last year and don't think I can top it this year. Then again, would yet another reference to Tim Hortons be overkill? Not that I featured a Tim Hortons sign in my Christmas card or anything...

I looked at my blog stats today for the first time in a very long while. Wouldn't it be nice if they actually told me something?

Have a lovely week-end!

I have never worn knee socks under a long skirt or done the sniff test to a pair of jeans. *innocent* Really. And you can't prove otherwise!

LMAO!

Sniffing the butt of your jeans - I'll have to remember that one.

Oh and the laundry basket - we are working on week 3! Seriously, 3 weeks of rooting thru the baskets for clothes.

All of your laundry situations make me laugh.
Do they still make knee hi's?
When I was little, I wore my Mom's knee hi's. Yes, they were thigh-hi's. I was ahead of my time.

Hmmm, not sure about the opera singer thing.

You've inspired me to put my laundry away, thank you.

Caution,

I think your link on Mrs4444's page is linked incorrectly.

Have a good weekend.

You mean your NOT supposed to wear knee socks under skirts? ;)

My husband does exactly what your kiddos are doing with the clothes & the laundry baskets... he's a grown up though - if he stinks, its all on him! :)

Opera singers roll from the womb singing abnormally.

I turn the heat up in my car far too much as well - to the point of peeling off my coat or a sweater, down to my T-shirt. I don't seem to want to adjust the temperature though lol

Love, love love.

I bought more laundry baskets rather than just putting the existing laundry away. This final step just kills me.

And, I love me a hot car. I realized I needed to chill (literally) a bit when I saw that the boys were...sweating.

To answer your question, the snuggie is warm, but not stair material, for sure.

Knee-highs get such a bad rap! I'll take them over pantyhose any day. Do they still make panyhose?

Your "jeans policy" is the story of my life. I NEVER wash my jeans unless they have stains or they smell!

Hahah - great post!

I thought EVERYONE did that with their jeans! And sometimes, for good measure, I spray a bit of Febreeze....just in case.

My laundry is the ONLY thing I am obsessive about. Of course, I am only responsible for my own nowadays, so it is a lot easier. I cannot think about going to work if my clothes are not washed, dried, folded and put neatly into their little places. If I had to get up in the morning to look for something to wear, I would not make it through the day! My oldest daughter on the other hand is the exact opposite. If it is in a pile on one side of her room it's clean, if it is on the other side of her room, it needs laundering. At least she has a system!
Never thought about that opera singer thing before...something for me to ponder...thanks!

Hubby likes to crank the heat in the car, too - I usually give him a hint by rolling my window down. The next time he gets home from work on a really cold day, I'm going to be out there taking pictures in case he's steaming when he emerges from his oven-like car. ;)

I may have worn knee highs under a longer skirt in the 80's, too. ;)

I absolutely would have taken a long restroom break during the choosing of which adult would get a pie in the face!

Are you my sister? I rarely answer my phone, too.

Seriously, do you have hidden cameras in my house? I've been dressing Princess Nagger from the laundry basket for about a week now... ;) Luckily she doesn't put her dirty laundry in the laundry basket with the clean ones - but sometimes I wish she would instead of shedding them as she moves from one room to another and they're left randomly all over.

The smelling the jeans and if they don't have an odor or stains they're wearable? Done that. ;)

I haven't been able to figure out my blog stats in...forever. :)

Happy FF! :)

I do the jeans thing... I figure if it doesn't smell bad or look dirty, it's not dirty!

And... I never answer my phone unless I know it's my husband or my mother calling *L*

I really loved these fragments, Caution; they cracked me up.

I don't sniff the jeans; I just fold them back up and let the kids think I washed them if they still look fine.

My kids rarely put their clean clothes away and prefer to live out of their baskets. For this reason, I've been known to hide Christmas presents in their dressers. (Seriously.)

Kendall enjoys eating candy for dinner now and then. However, Kyle (the athlete) always wants "something healthy." Poor kid...

My burning question: do newscasters ever talk normally or does every sentence lilt downward at the end?

Who taught them to talk that way? And why?

I love your amusing fragments - kind of like delicious truffles for me to dip into.

Heehee!!! Too funny! My daughter is an opera singer.....she sings EVERYTHING in opera. Even AC/DC. True story!

No one likes to be in the car with me. They get out sweating, and I'm as fresh as a peach;)
