FF: me, Me, ME !!

Today is my birthday,
and I think it's great.
To be half of 96
is my current fate.

Mommy's Idea
What I most love about Friday Fragments is the reassurance that other people
are less organized than I might have feared.

I never heard of bumpy cake until I moved to Michigan. Since that wondrous discovery of chocolate cake covered with lines of buttercream and topped with chocolate, it has been a birthday tradition for me. This year my friend told me where to find the best bumpy cake - this one covered in Sander's hot fudge. I guess that's another Michigan tradition. Just so you know, the cake has a Caution shelf-life of 24 hours.

Why didn't you all ever tell me about Friday Follow before? What fun!
Friday Follow
After last week's Friday Follow, I was happy to see that this blog had 80 followers, but then I realized I was following myself.

I've always loved Mary Chapin Carpenter's music but I'm a little disconcerted how she seems to have videotaped my life to get her lyrics.

I've been working my arms with 3 pound weights. At this rate, I should have toned arms for my 60th bday.

Would someone please explain to me how the new health care bill which requires people to have health insurance enables them to pay for that health insurance?

I've asked my family to recycle things they already own as birthday gifts for me. Now I ask you the same thing. What great advice did you once receive from someone that you would now be willing to pass onto me?

While you're typing up that advice, ponder this: With the heat generated by 48 candles, 5.49 ounces of water could be boiled.

I love each and every one of these statements...especially the "will have toned arms by the time I am 60"! I feel the same way!!

Tillykke med fødselsdagen idag!
I hope your 48th year on the planet is WONDERFUL!

Here is my fragment...Spring rain in Denmark can turn into spring snow in less than 43 minutes... I have proof, right here, right now as I type.

Happy birthday!

Happy birthday my Silly friend!!!!

I say move up to 5lb weights. That will cut your tone arm time to 58.
I have no advice...if I did, I would surely follow it myself. :0

Happy Birthday.
The best advice I ever received was before I got married. An experienced wife told me to never start doing a task (i.e., mowing the lawn) that I didn't want to be stuck doing for the rest of my life. You do it once, you own that job.

Happy Birthday! All the best advice I got, I didn't take. I think you know it when you get it, you just need to USE IT!

Oh Happy Birthday Caution!! I'm so glad I popped over before going to bed :-)

How about I give you the opposite-advice instead?
(my mother comes from double-whammy, in-bred stock so I was given lots of dodgy advice)...

Whether or not it really does work, I am advising you NOT to wrap a splinter stuck under the skin with bacon. I don't care if it DOES draw the splinter out, it's just gross to have bacon wrapped around a toe.

Have a great day!!

This is a fun post! HAPPY BIRTHDAY and if i can do math right i am a bit older than you,so admit it that makes you feel younger right? The way I figure it. With the health care reform laws those who can''t pay will go to jail where they will get 3 hots and a cot and free health care insurance. Isn't that about right?

I am so very happy that at the end of your post you gave your age. I was still struggling to figure out what half of 96 was - I'll blame it on the late hour. :)

I'm from Michigan and I've never heard of bumpy cake. That could be because my mother rarely served us cake or any other desserts. I only truly discovered them when I left the house lol

Have a wonderful, fabulous birthday.

Bumpy cake sounds like a great way to celebrate a birthday!

Advice: be true to yourself, and don't care what others think of you.
