i love close parking spots. but what i'd really prefer is if someone would pick me up from my car and drive me to the door.

I had to laugh - that is so very American! Although I confess after six years here I am now totally used to the fact that here pretty much anywhere you go you can park right outside AND not have to pay for the privilege!

I too like to park close, but it is hitting 100 degrees here and I am opting for a longer walk so I can park in the shade. Walk vs. Shade, shade wins every time!
