We were at a World War II reenactment fair when my beautiful boy noticed someone carrying around an Air Force backpack. Oh how he wanted that backpack! To earn one though, a person had to do 20 pull-up's/chin-up's. But, said the recruiter in charge, it was his last backpack so the fee was now 30 pull-up's/chin-up's. We all stared and made grumpy faces, and the recruiter said, "Okay, 25."
So Checkered, newly thin and always protective of our sometimes fragile boy, began.
1,2, 3,4,5,6,7,8,9, 10, 11, 12.. 13... 14....15. That was it. There was a caveat though: Checkered had done a set of 10 prior to the set of 15. Doesn't that equal 25?
According to the recruiter: no.

Wow! Well, actually that was 25, wasn't it! When I was in my 20s, I used to be able to do a number of those (I said a number. I didn't way which number.) :-) But I actually could. Now I'm sure I couldn't do ONE. How pathetic!
I wonder how many they have to do to pass their PT??

Seriously? He made it almost 3/4 of the way through!!! Army would have been WAY more forgiving... However it would have been pushups or some other crazy PT move. ;)

I think the Air Force NAtional Recruiters Office should ssend hi one just for the principle that he did 15...and is so dedicated to the force at his age...I feel like kicking someone right now.
Oh please, I couldn't do one pull up. I suck at those. They make me cry. I refuse to do them when my trainer asks me to, they remind me of P.E. in junior high. I guess that's why my arms don't look like Michelle Obamas.
