In our younger years, Checkered and I each travelled a bit. I visited Europe twice, Morocco once, Hawaii once, and 44 of the states. Checkered was in Kenya, Mexico, and Bermuda. We tentatively planned to visit Australia and see more of Europe.
Then we procreated repeatedly and things changed. We've never taken the kids to Disney, never even have taken them south of the Carolinas, never been on a cruise, never been to any of the indoor water parks, and all our family trips to date have been east of the Mississippi.
But, baby, just say the words,
"Dairy Maid is open for the season!!!!"
and we are there immediately.
Predictability is a good thing, isn't it?
you MUST come to GA...you just must...
I---one who has never flown---am nearly falling off my chair in awe at all the places you have been! Wow.....blog about them sometime. BTW, I live in that exotic land WEST of the Mississippi.
What a great post. It brought a genuine smile to my face. I guess that's because I can relate -- Zesto has opened here (I imagine that's our version of Dairy Maid). All's well with the world when our favorite ice cream shop opens, right? :)
I love predictability. And icecream. That is what the kids will remember!!!
I have never heard of icecream shops closing and them opening...for winter I suppose???
My life is so different in sunny (blistering) Florida.
Already have hit our Dairy Freez. Isn't it great?!
I am so right there with you baby!
Looks like the perfect traveling spot if I do say so myself.
And WHY is it that you are not attending Blog Fest in beautiful Mathews, VA???
They have ice cream....AND Sonic;)
My favorite dish!! :) I would travel to the ends of the earth for that!!
The word procreate makes me laugh. I don't know why, maybe because I was never very good at it, but it just makes me giggle. Certain words do that to me. Then I feel like a Jr. High girl, and I think, grow up Pam. But thanks for using that word. I don't know why but it just gets me every time!
