My thumb is as green as my attention span is long. What does that mean? There's not even a hint of green on my thumb. Fortunately, that doesn't stop me from trying. Each winter when the first seed catalog arrives, my hopes are renewed, my enthusiasm recharged, and my garden plans ridiculous.
I'll order. I'll plant. I'll even water - for a while. Then I'll spend the rest of the growing season feeling guilty about my dying, weed-encroached garden.
Then January will arrive, and the process will start all over again.
What makes you happy today?

I'm happy today, beacause I just found out I am not the only one without the green thumb gene.
You know how easy it is to grow an Amarillas? Well...mine is not growing!!! And yet, I continue to buy them, year after year!
Power to the greenless thumb sisterhood!
hummm speaking of plants... I realy need to go into the dungon (spare room) and check on the plants I brought inside for winter... :) I have really strong hardy plants or I woudl kill them all ....and I (WE) too try a garden each year... and those few veggies we harvest are really expensive.
Oh boy, I wish I could get to order some stuff too. I'm in a rental with no yard! Maybe next year.

Oh yeah, this is such a familiar cycle! We're sitting here in NW Wisconsin surrounded by HUGE snowbanks and the beautiful seed catalogs start arriving in the mail. I love Burpees and Baker's especially. But the WORK involved in getting them from itty bitty seeds to gorgeous, lush plants is nothing short of grueling!
grueling??
I am the same way. I have big plans for my garden.
Loosing 20 pounds would make me happy!

At least you start a garden! I used to, but I've since given up.
You sort of make me want to try again...
=)
Laying newspaper on the ground between the rows helps to deter weed growth. It doesn't look real pretty but it works:)
Oh my gosh...you are nothing if not consistent!
When I lived in Michigan I was the exact same way! Enjoy perusing the seed catalogs.

That sounds a lot like my history with gardening. I love that you keep trying each year though!
Wild grasses are always nice......
OH MY GOD!?!? We must have been separated at birth! I do the exact same thing. Why do we torture ourselves? Why do we torture the plants????
Happy New Year!
Lots of yummy love,

My orchid is still alive!
That's what I want to do this Spring...I can finally plant a garden!
Now I am off to order a catalog!!
Thanks for sparking that thought in my head.
