I have become a sucker for all things kitchen gadgety. If it's fairly small and goes in the kitchen, I like it. If it makes cooking easier, I feel affection for it. If it has a plug, well then, I love it. My cabinets are full. My pantry/laundry room is a mess. My counter tops are space-starved. But I'm ready to buy again.
You see, my kids love eggs and hard boiled is their new style of choice. So I've been shopping.
I've been looking at things like this that stand alone:

I know. I know!! This:
is cheaper and stores nicely and I already own it. But it doesn't have its own plug.

I think egg cookers are so cute! I used to have an antique orange Fiesta Ware egg cooker but can't find it. I do, however, still have the two antique Fiesta Ware egg cups (yellow, green) that went with it. They are so cute and fun! You must look for them online. :-)
Just an old fashioned boiler here. Sorry;)
I just boil them, too. to me, it's the least of a hassle...you know they sell eggs already hard boiled in the grocery store.
We use a skillet....and some butter.
Good luck!
No gadgets in this house I'm afraid - hubby does all the cooking and we have to do everything the hard way! :-)
Vol Fan is all about the hands-free pot stirrer thingy he saw on an infomercial:)
I wish I could help, but I'm allergic to eggs, so never cook them. I leave that to my girls who can eat them and they do everything the old fashioned, boring way.
got an old cast aluminum pot with a broken handle that i cook most things in...
I'm just a regular ole boiler too.

I really do enjoy hard boiled eggs- they also make a great snack. I want one but I know I have no room in our tiny apt kitchen for one more thing. Some day I will own one though!
Ah, egg cookers. Mr. M had a poached egg in a restaurant once and asked me to cook him one. I had to call my mother. But I managed to cook one and poached eggs became wildly popular around here. I even bought a poacher, thinking it was electric and automatic. Nope. It was a joke. So it's back to the saucepan for me.
Frying pan here. Though you have talked me into buying one. COOL gadget. Anything that makes life easier.
Happy New Year :)
When I started having an incredible amount of trouble hard boiling eggs (actually just peeling them was the pain in the rear part) I started buying them already boiled and peeled from the supermarket. Oh lordy, that was a sanity saver. Now I have learned how to boil eggs and I boil my own. (Boil for three minutes, set for 10 on the stove in the hot water. Pour eggs into ice cubes, a 1/4c baking soda and water. Set for 10-15 then I peel them all and put them in the fridge in gladware.)
So...do you have the hot dog cooker that steams the buns?
Kristin - The Goat
You could be a Dane with that egg cooker! Except Danes cook theirs SEVEN MINUTES and eat the slimy things with a spoon in these cute little egg cups!
